PFA is pleased to announce that its electricity buyers group is expanding to the utility service territories of Met Ed, Penelec and Peco. Regulated rate caps in all three of these service areas will expire December 31, 2010. End-users will need to either choose a competitive supplier for electricity generation and transmission services, or stay with the regulated utility under a default fixed rate or a variable hourly electricity rate.
When PPL's rate caps expired last December 31, most foundries were able to save money over the utility's default service with PFA's electricity buyers group. PFA's preferred suppliers for Met Ed, Penelec and Peco foundries are Constellation New Energy and Sempra Energy Solutions. Both suppliers also serve PFA's electricity buyers group in the PPL territory. Constellation New Energy also will quote foundries in the Allegheny Energy, Duquesne Power and Penn Power territories who are interested in receiving a competitive proposal.
Electricity contracts lasting from one to three years or more in length will be available. Fixed price as well as block-and-index and customized supply contracts will be offered. |
